100 Things To Do In A Traffic Jam

100 Things To Do in a Traffic Jam

Crazy "balik kampung" jam seen on highway leading to Penang this year

Highway traffic comes to a crawl on Raya 'balik kampung'

Hey guys, I guess most of you are already back from your kampung or holiday destination! Were you stuck in the traffic jam on your way to your hometown? North-South Expressway (PLUS) estimated a traffic increase by up to 500,000 vehicles from its average 1.1 million users per day during Raya Holiday this year! That's a 300% increase in the number of cars!!

Traffic jams is a terrible waste of time. We've all experienced being stuck in a traffic jam, a stream of cars for miles ahead of us and behind us. Whether we're on our own or with a group of people in the car, there's always that feeling of boredom - the feeling of having absolutely nothing to do.

While you might be dreading traffic jams as you drive along in the car, with my list of 100 things to do in a traffic jam, you'll never have to be bored on the road again.

Whether you're alone in a traffic jam or you're car is full up with friends, there's something for everyone to do when bored and stuck in a trafic jam!

10 Ideas: Alone in a traffic jam

1. Sing to yourself.

2. Count, count, and count. See how many seconds you count before you're out of the traffic jam.

3. Look at the other cars. Find your perfect car that's being driven by someone else!

4. Put the radio on and sing along.

5. See how long you can hold your breath (but watch you don't pass out!)

6. Rate cars from 1-10. As the cars slowly drive past you, decide if they're 1 (really bad) or 10 (really good) or somewhere in between.

7. Have a go at doing different accents, e.g Italian, American, Australian. You might be surprised at how talented you are!

8. See how many different voices you can do, e.g different actors, cartoon characters

9. Look at the people in the other cars. Have a guess at what they work as.

10. While you're guessing their jobs, guess their ages as well!

10 Ideas: With 1 other person

1. Sing together. See if you can make some cool sounds.

2. See who can hold a note for the longest time.

3. Just talk! Have a conversation.

4. Try and think of funny words and invent a new word!

5. Play a game of hangman. The driver can keep his/her eyes on the road, and the other person can do all the writing.

10 Ideas: In the car with kids

2. If you're with another driver in the car, then get out every 5 minutes and swap places.

3. Move your car forward an inch. Then drive it back an inch. Repeat this over and over again. Make sure you only move an inch otherwise you will end up causing a crash!

4. Look at what other people are doing. Do you see people getting out of their car? Singing? Waving? Maybe they've read this!

5. Make friends with someone. Wind down your window and start a conversation. "Isn't this traffic terrible?" "Where are you going?" "Do you have far to go?"
