HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT RIMS FOR YOUR CAR

Everyone knows the fact that good, eye-catching set of Rims will totally enhance the look of car, that's the bottom line.WHO CARES if you have the most powerful engine, fastest turbo and the most prevailing transmission... if your rims looks like this?

Yes, inner beauty is important, but so is the outer beauty! In the case of cars, the RIMS!!!

The question arises here: How to choose the right Rims for your car?

Other than choosing the rims' appearance that you prefer and it's within your budget, here are the 3 Most Basic points that you need to put into consideration:

1) Size of Rims

The most important factor of choosing the right rims is to choose the right size. Adding size to your rims will enhance your car performance and of course, adding a sportier look. Think about it, bigger size rims give you a larger diameter, therefore giving you a better balanced gravity when you accelerate your car more than 120 kph and when your car is cornering.  But for god sake, of course don't be extreme. The right size car comes with right size rims. Go for 1 or 2 inches bigger than your original rims. Don't be crazy to put an 22 inches of Rims on your Peroduo Myvi , otherwise you will visit the car workshop more than you should be.

2)  Weight of Rims

Bigger size rims no doubt will brings good to your car. But like everything else, good packages always comes with bad side-Weight. The bigger the size of rims are, the more weight they contain. If the weight of Rims cannot be supported by your car, it can reduce its handling ability and it will cause more oil consuming. Fortunately, the current market do offers big size rims with lighter weight. The unfortunate part is that it will make your wallet lighter as well.

3) Alloy or Steel Rims

Traditionally, many rims were made from Steel as it is more inexpensive. But as the world today approached to demand for better choices, Alloy Rims come in the way. It offers more benefits compare to Steel Rims...except for its price factor. The difference of Alloy Rims from Steel Rims are the following:

  • Alloy Rims are made from aluminum or magnesium,or even both
  • Alloy Rims have greater strength compared to weight, than steel Rims
  • Alloy Rims have greater heat conduction which may be caused it to be more vulnerable in fire-The Bad Side to it
  • Designs on Alloy Rims are sportier and better
  • Alloy Rims helps to improve car handling as they offer lighter weight compares to Steel Rims
Alloy Rims have its good benefit but it will have to depend on your car usage. For regular road drivers, the advantages of Alloy Rims will not be significantly shown as it is not enough to make a huge difference to the driving experience. It is more recommended to people who normally drives car faster (legally) or take motoring more seriously as the number one disadvantage of Alloy Rims is its expensive price.

Guys, I hope this helps you to understand more on the basic how to choose the right set of Rims for your car.  Of course, there are many more factors that will influence the choice of your rims which may be real complicated.
